Nara Collins is an average sixteen-year-old, with one exception: every night she dreams the events of the following day. Due to an incident in her past, Nara avoids using her special gift to change fate…until she dreams a future she can’t ignore.

After Nara prevents a bombing at Blue Ridge High, her ability to see the future starts to fade, while people at school are suddenly being injured at an unusually high rate.

Grappling with her diminishing powers and the need to prevent another disaster, Nara meets Ethan Harris, a mysterious loner who seems to understand her better than anyone. Ethan and Nara forge an irresistible connection, but as their relationship heats up, so do her questions about his dark past.

I was contacted by the Author to review this book. All opinions are my own and I was not compensated in any way for them.

Review:

This book is something I had wanted to read for a long time. So long in fact I forgot that I actually already bought a copy on my kindle until after agreeing to review it. Now that I've read it Am I glad that I did? Yes, but it did have a few flaws along the way.

My Thoughts On Brightest Kind Of Darkness by P.T. Michelle

The Plot- While this story isn't unique it did have a certain appeal. I loved certain aspects (use of Ravens, inherited abilities)but at times I honestly felt I was reading another Authors story.

The Characters- Loved Ethan he had the perfect blend of sweet and sour. Would of liked to learn more about him but I'm guessing that is being saved for the next book. On the flip side while I liked Nara I also wanted to yell at her as well. I can't fault Nara for not wanting a bomb to explode but some of the other times she interfered I had to ask myself why? I just didn't like that she wanted to change every outcome all of a sudden. I also found her need to shield her mother overbearing. Even if her mother became a complete mess from her fathers phone call she deserved the chance to talk to him.

Pacing- The beginning and ending flew by but the middle section dragged on to the point where I had to walk away and come back just to release my frustration with Nara.

Overall this was a nice little book. I can't wait to read the next in the series and see what or who Ethan is. That being said it did at times feel like a ripoff of the Final Destination films and Nara was a bit to angsty for my liking. Would I recommend this book? Absolutely. I will be rating Brightest Kind Of Darkness by P.T. Michelle ★★★.
